Fish Lake was stocked recently with 5,000 legal-size rainbow trout. Tiger trout, Chinook salmon, brook trout, and larger rainbow trout also are available. Trout fishing has been good for both bank and boat anglers. Larger tiger trout can be targeted by casting lures or streamer flies around structure but remember that tiger trout must be immediately released unharmed.

The lake is currently 82 percent full, but clarity is somewhat limited by a plankton bloom. The Forest Service Campground is open, and the Fish Lake Resort—which offers camping, cabins, boat rentals, and a restaurant—is also now open seven days a week.
