The Applegate River is now open for trout fishing. Two hatchery trout may be harvested per day. Wild trout must be released unharmed. Colder water than normal continues to be released from the reservoir. Very high releases are taking place with the snowmelt (over 1,000 cubic feet per second on Tuesday), forcing the Corps to release cold water from the bottom of the reservoir. Releases and water temperatures should moderate through the week.
