Action: Clarify that lingcod retention is allowed seaward of the 120-foot depth restriction only on days when both halibut and lingcod are open in Marine Area 5

Effective date: June 15, 2020

Species affected: Lingcod

Location: Marine Area 5

Reason for action: Halibut is scheduled to be open through the end of June and this action is needed to clarify that lingcod retention is only allowed seaward of 120 feet on days that both halibut and lingcod are open. Without this rule change, anglers might interpret the rule as allowing lingcod retention seaward of 120 feet in Marine Area 5 after the close of the lingcod season when halibut is open.
