Hyatt lake was recently stocked with 5000 legal rainbow trout.  This is the only planned stocking for the spring. Stocking at Hyatt lake was delayed last week due to continued low water and logistical needs.

Recent reports indicate fishing has been poor for many anglers -- both boat-based and shore-based. Low water at Hyatt for multiple years appears to have impacted many of the holdover trout that have often provided an excellent spring fishery.

Drift boats can still be launched from the bank at any number of the pullouts on the main road between Howard and Hyatt. Water is about 50 feet from the Cascade boat ramp and still a few hundred feet away from the Mountain View ramp. The Mountain View boat ramp is close to being usable. All federal and state campgrounds are still closed. The reservoir is 23 percent full.

There is a Hwy 66 and Hyatt Lake Rd webcam that may help you if you are planning an adventure up here. Also, ODOT trip check is worth looking at.
