ROSEBURG, Ore – Tagged hatchery rainbow trout are being released into Galesville and Cooper Creek reservoirs in the next few weeks, and anglers who catch them have a chance to net a $50 gift card.

Galesville and Cooper Creek reservoirs will be stocked with tagged trout as part of the “Tag Team Program.” The program helps biologists better understand trout stocking efforts and manage the fisheries to increase angler success. It also helps biologists know which stock of trout performs the best.

Anglers who catch a tagged fish at Galesville, Cooper Creek, or other lakes in the Tag Team Program are encouraged to report it to ODFW whether or not they keep the fish. If the fish is released, cut the tag off at the base and report the number by mail, phone, or by using ODFW’s tag reporting webpage.

Tags with a reward label must be returned to ODFW, preferably at the Roseburg office, 4192 North Umpqua Highway. Please call the office at 541-440-3353 if returning the tag in person or mail it to the Roseburg office with your contact information.
