Action: Closes Klineline Pond to fishing by the public one day prior to the fishing event as well as the day of the event.

Effective Date:
May 3 - 12:01 a.m., entire pond closed to public fishing
May 4 - Pond open to participants in the Youth Fishing event, but closed to the general public until 3:00 p.m.

Location: Klineline Pond is located at Salmon Creek Park in Vancouver, Washington.

Reason for Action: This rule change is necessary to ensure a safe and successful event. The fish will be planted one day prior to the event to acclimate them before the event. Fish will be placed into netted areas along the shoreline of the pond. On the day of the event, pre-registered kids will be allowed to fish within these netted areas.

Keeping the pond closed until 3 p.m. on May 4 will ensure the safety of the public and the event participants while the event is shutting down and equipment and nets are being removed. Several hundred feet of net must be pulled from the shoreline area.

Other Information: This is an annual event sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America as a way of recruiting kids into the scouts. Boys and girls are welcome to participate in the event.
